Description
The conical shaft connector is machined from glass filled acetal and it’s used with later or upgraded versions of both the Duo-Gen and Sail-Gen products.
These generators are characterized by a black 15mm diameter carbon fibre inner drive shaft.
The connector links the air rotor or water impeller to the alternator.
By design the conical connector is the weakest part of the transmission.
Analogous to the shear pin found in an outboard motor impeller the connector is deigned to break in response to a shock load thereby protecting the rest of the generator from damage.
The conical connector is supplied complete with securing shoulder bolt and fitting instructions.
